Julia
Kreer, an NFM Bowen Therapy client in Leesburg, Virginia,
suffers from arthritis. She shared
the following in The Bowen Technique, Massage
Magazine, Issue 106, Nov/Dec 2003, pg. 164:
I
had a bad limp and muscle pain due to severe osteoarthritis
in my left hip, [and] the bone doc told me that only a
hip replacement would help. My physical therapist did everything
she could and then referred me to [Chuck Thomas] for Bowen.
"At
first I thought, 'Something this gentle, this calming,
this alternative won't help much,'" she recalled. "But
after the second visit, I noticed a lessening of the severe
muscle pains in my leg, and my limp improved. I get occasional
arthritic pains now, but no more muscle pains.

| OVERVIEW |
 |
Bowen Therapeutic Techniques represent interpretations of the
manual therapies used in Australia by the late Mr. Thomas
Ambrose Bowen. Bowen Therapy consists primarily of acupressure,
massage and osteopathy.
Bowen
Therapy offers a safe and effective form of therapeutic
and medical massage for anyone - from the
highly trained athlete to the chronically ill, from
newborns to the elderly, and for expecting mothers during
any trimester. |

Bowen
Therapy has successfully relieved musculoskeletal discomforts
such as back and neck pain, sporting injuries, carpal tunnel
syndrome, scoliosis, and TMJ alignment, as well as systemic
and neurological disorders.
According
to Dr. Oswald H. Rentsch:
"It
is also renowned for its effectiveness with internal
conditions such as migraines, digestive and elimination
complaints, colic in babies, and respiratory problems,
including asthma" (Rentsch, 1998).
The
experienced Bowen therapist can address both acute and
chronic discomforts. NFM Bowen Therapy integrates the work
of Mr. Thomas
Bowen with other Eastern and Western massage techniques.
I
offer my clients either stand-alone or integrated Bowen
Therapy sessions, depending upon their desires and
objectives. |
